♔ First Impressions

⚜ VISUAL: Grantaire is average in height and build, although that belies the fact that he is quite athletic for someone who is constantly drinking. He's not super fit or anything, but he is definitely more athletic than someone who never works out or only does so occasionally.

⚜ FASHION: A fairly good representation of how Grantaire feels about fashion would be the costume from the 25th anniversary concert. It's wrinkled, he almost compulsively rolls sleeves up, he can't be assed to fix any stains that might appear, if there's a jacket he definitely didn't button it or isn't wearing it, etc. There's an exception to this, but I'll make sure to point it out if it ever comes up.

⚜ DEMEANOUR: Grantaire slouches when he sits and rarely stands fully straight except for when he's grandstanding. He tends to try to blend into the background as much as possible and keep eyes off him, unless he's blatantly disagreeing with someone.

⚜ SOUND: English | French | Singing
I've provided the English, because as far as I know Louis Garrel doesn't speak Japanese so that's as good as you're getting. Anyway, Grantaire is actually primarily speaking French so. Have fun with that. Basically: Grantaire's voice is fairly low and lilting with a noticable French accent. He's not a half-bad singer either.

⚜ SCENT: Grantaire smells fairly strong of alcohol - particularly absinthe and brandy at first, if your characters know alcohol well enough to distinguish but probably wine as the game goes on.

♔ OOC

⚜ BACKTAGGING: If I don't respond for like two days, just msg me on discord or whatever and lmk because I probably forgot.

⚜ FOURTHWALLING: Fucking do it. Tell Grantaire they're not a group which barely missed becoming historic, they're a group that became historic. Anyway, as long as you don't directly tell Grantaire he's fictional, I'm cool with it. I'd love it. Please reference Les Mis to Grantaire.

⚜ PHYSICAL AFFECTION: You can definitely try, but Grantaire is unlikely to respond well to it? He's much more of a [claps a guy on the shoulder and says "bro"] kind of guy than a huggy, touchy-feely kinda guy. If he knows a character well enough, though, he might initiate physical contact.

⚜ PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Grantaire's pretty good at hand to hand combat! He's a boxer and a dancer both, so even while drunk he tends to be morre coordinated than you would think. However, he's not really one for a physical fight. He prefers verbal sparring.

⚜ RELATIONSHIPS: Grantaire loves (1) man and that man is Enjolras. If your name isn't Enjolras, he's much more of a one night stand kinda guy than a committed relationship kind of guy. Unless your name is Enjolras. If your name is Enjolras, Grantaire will do literally anything for you, including blacking your boots. Anyway one of his sins is fornication, so he's up for it he's just really, uh. Emotionally unavailable?

⚜ DEPRESSION: Sometimes you're just from 1830 and you don't know what depression is but you have melancholia and it's a bitch. I can't precisely avoid the whole topic, because that's just the character, but I can tone it down and avoid the worst of it. Namely that Grantaire is full of self-loathing.

⚜ SUICIDE: It kind of comes with the territory of being depressed, but Grantaire also has a secondary Fun Level™ of suicidal behavior which is that he will literally die for characters. He's fine. It's fine. Don't worry about it.

⚜ ALCOHOLISM: Grantaire is, uh. Quite the drinker! Canonically, he drinks several bottles of wine in addition to a bottle of absinthe before the revolution and is still somehow coherent when he wakes up after a nap. How, I have no idea. Things were different when drinking water gave you cholera so you had to drink wine, I guess.
